Our
practice features Breast Augmentation, one of the most popular cosmetic

The
Procedure
The desire of women to have a
virtually “Scarless” operation was realized with the coming of
Endoscopic surgery. This procedure allows the use of miniature instruments, guided
by miniature TV cameras. The most logical approach was through the bodies
natural “scar”, the belly button. The original operation was performed over the muscle, but today’s instruments allow either the over-placement
or underplacement of the implant. What is left is a tiny, almost
invisible scar, in the depth of the belly button (a belly button ring,
does not interfere with the surgery). Small, but long, very thin delicate
instruments are passed under the guidance of the endoscope. The surgeon
sees a magnified version of what is happening, on a TV monitor. A pocket
is created and the implant (inflatable), gently inserted, and then
inflated with sterile salt water. The patient is partially elevated into a
sitting position and the
position, symmetry and size of the implants are checked.
Adjustments, if any, are made, and the
filling tube withdrawn. Two or three fine dissolving stitches are used to
close the small opening in the belly button, a light dressing applied, a
bra placed on the patient, who is then transported to the recovery room.

TUBA Method
is Quicker and Less Painful
The
TUBA approach is quicker that the standard operations, and as a result the
patients are awake almost immediately. All patients are seen the next day,
and massage instructions are demonstrated. Local patients are asked to return
in a month for evaluation. Out of town,
and foreign patients are contacted by phone and follow up pictures are used to
guide the after care, if necessary. We ask patients to return yearly for a
free lifetime follow-up. This rarely happens. The operation becomes so
much a part of most patients that they forget that they had it done
and so do their spouse or significant other.
