If these lines and wrinkles are causing you too look older and people are asking if you are tired or mad, BOTOX® Cosmetic can help. Men of all ages, ethnicities, and professions are receiving BOTOX® Cosmetic injections to help them regain a more youthful appearance.

What is BOTOX® Cosmetic Made Of?

BOTOX® Cosmetic for Men - Paramus, NJ

BOTOX® Cosmetic is made from very small amounts of Clostridium botulinum, a naturally occurring protein that is refined from the bacterium. BOTOX® Cosmetic is a prescription medication that is injected into the muscles. BOTOX® Cosmetic is FDA approved to temporarily improve the look of moderate to severe brow furors (frown lines) and wrinkles around the eyes.

MEN BEWARE of cheap or inexpensive BOTOX® Cosmetic (too good to be true!). The main ingredient may be diluted. Also, be cautious of BOTOX® Cosmetic injections done outside a physician’s office. There is a lot of artistic vision to injecting BOTOX® Cosmetic.

What Areas are Treated With BOTOX® Cosmetic?

The most common area of injections is between the eyebrows where adults frequently develop a furrow. This area responds extremely well. Crow's feet and forehead lines also respond well to BOTOX® Cosmetic.

We are now using BOTOX® Cosmetic in selected patients for "crinkling" of the lower eyelid, and for areas around the mouth. BOTOX® Cosmetic also works well in our patients with troublesome neck bands.

Ask us about FDA approved BOTOX® Cosmetic for hyperhidrosis. It works well to reduce sweating of the armpits.

What Can I Expect During and After Treatment?

The procedure is quick and it is done in the office with only slight discomfort. After BOTOX® Cosmetic you will be a bit puffy for about an hour or so, we will use ice in the office to reduce the swelling. We recommend "taking it easy" for rest of the day after BOTOX® Cosmetic i.e. no gym, working out, kickboxing, yoga, spin etc.

How Soon After Treatment Will I See Results and How Long do the Results Last?

Many patients see results within a few days. Peak results are 2-4 weeks. BOTOX® Cosmetic tends to last for 3-4 months. When applied in small amounts, BOTOX® Cosmetic is FDA approved and extremely safe for cosmetic use. Please be advised that BOTOX® Cosmetic injections is NOT a permanent treatment. Typically, every 3-6 months, a follow-up treatment will be necessary. However, with continuous treatments time between each treatment can lengthen and the results may last longer*.

What are the Side Effects of BOTOX® Cosmetic?

BOTOX® Cosmetic is FDA approved for cosmetic use and has many medical uses as well. For over a decade, BOTOX® Cosmetic has proven to be one of the safest facial cosmetic enhancement treatments on the market. The main side effects of BOTOX® Cosmetic are bruising and an occasional headache. Patients worry about eyelid droop. Eyelid droop is extremely rare, and if it happens it is temporary and often responds to special eye drops.

Are there other Similar Products to BOTOX® Cosmetic?

At BAXT CosMedical® we also offer Dysport® treatments. Xeomin® is available upon request. These botulinum products are similar to BOTOX® Cosmetic as they decrease the muscle contraction, thereby minimizing and sometimes erasing lines and wrinkles, primarily of the upper face*.

For optimal results BOTOX® Cosmetic is best performed by experienced, appropriately certified injectors. Our Board Certified Dermatologists have performed thousands of BOTOX® Cosmetic injections and can help determine the best treatment to achieve your facial rejuvenation goals. There is a lot of skill and artistic vision to injecting BOTOX® Cosmetic so you want an experienced and properly trained injector, not someone who takes a weekend course, or injects in a salon, or private home “Botox party”.
