Many people mistakenly believe that only women undergo facial cosmetic procedures including a facelift. In the United States, more and more men are undergoing surgical cosmetic procedures. This growing base of male patients are opting for a facelift to rejuvenate their facial appearance and to stay competitive in the job market.
With the aging process, men also see their skin’s natural elasticity begin to break down, causing loose, sagging skin on the face and neck. Also, as you age facial wrinkles deepen, crow’s feet form around the corner of the eyes, and your chin may be affected with fat deposits and sagging skin or a double chin.
While facial aging is inevitable, a facelift can help restore your face to a more youthful appearance.
Why a Facelift (Rhytidectomy)?
A facelift (rhytidectomy) is a popular cosmetic surgery procedure that many men undergo each year to address the visible signs of aging on the face and neck. BAXT CosMedical®’s board certified plastic surgeons can expertly improve sagging, loose skin by tightening deep facial structures, redraping the skin of the face and neck, and removing selected areas of fat.
How is a Facelift Performed at BAXT CosMedical®?
Facelifts are typically performed in our in-office surgical center and are done under IV sedation. Our board certified plastic surgeons utilize a time saving facelift procedure called the Tissue Glue Facelift. EVICEL® (Tissue Glue), distributed by Johnson and Johnson, has caused a true revolution in the field of plastic surgery. At the end of the operation, the surgeon applies the EVICEL® under the skin, and simply holds things in place for 3 minutes. The fact is that the skin is now immediately stuck down to the underlying tissue, resulting in minimal bruising, swelling and a quicker recovery*.
This technique has significant advantages over a traditional facelift which involve a longer recovery time due to extensive swelling, bruising and drains that need to be removed*.
The Tissue Glue Facelift is not a “mini” lift or a partial operation called the “weekend facelift.” Imagine having your facelift on Thursday and going out to dinner on Sunday! Consult with our plastic surgeons to learn more about the Tissue Glue Facelift and view the videos below.
