Advanced science and art of body sculpting and contouring
At BAXT CosMedical® in Paramus, NJ we continue to update and add to our surgical and non-surgical fat reduction and body contouring technology. Some of the advanced body shaping procedures we offer include:

Liposuction is one of the most sought after and popular body enhancement procedure for men and women. Simply stated, liposuction is an aesthetic surgical procedure designed to remove excess fat deposits. These deposits can be almost anywhere on the body.

Liposuction is a safe and effective fat reduction and body contouring surgical procedure that has been available for approximately 30+ years. Throughout the years, liposuction equipment and techniques has continued to be refined.

Dr. Sherwood Baxt has been at the forefront of the refinements in liposuction techniques. In general, traditional liposuction has been very successful over the years with optimal results achieved based on the expertise and skill of the surgeon performing the liposuction.

At BAXT CosMedical®, our board certified plastic surgeons advise patients that there are a few liposuction modalities that have improved and evolved over the 30+ year history of liposuction. They include:

Tumescent liposuction – where large quantities of fluid are injected into the target parts of the body and super-wet liposuction where less fluid is used than tumescent technique.

Laser Liposuction (SmartLipo™) – laser energy is used to heat the excess subcutanteous fat pockets.

Ultrasounic - Assisted Lipoplasty (UAL) – Ultrasound energy is used to breakdown and liquefy fat.

The plastic surgeons at BAXT CosMedical® will thoroughly discuss and explain the liposuction procedure they recommend to best meet your body shaping and fat reduction goals.

Who is a Candidate for Liposuction?

The ideal candidate for liposuction is a man or woman of normal weight with one or several areas of excess fat deposits that cannot be eliminated despite optimal diet and exercise.

The surgeons at BAXT CosMedical® advise their patients that obese patients are not good candidates for liposuction, though patients that are moderately overweight can be benefited. Remember, liposuction or lipo is a procedure designed to remove and reduce fat bulges giving a more smooth and shapely appearance*.

Our board certified plastic surgeons treat the following areas with liposuction:
