Learn which filler is best for you and the importance of having an expert injector
Since we all have been staying at home our television viewing has probably gone up and the retail industry has responded with product-specific advertising related to pandemic concerns. The cosmetic enhancement industry joined in with more commercials about enhancing your appearance, especially your face.
With the increased consumer demand for facial fillers it’s not surprising to see so much commercial air time being bought by Allergan® for their Juvéderm® collection of dermal fillers. Maybe you’ve seen the Juvéderm® commercial with it’s very catchy tune JUVÉDERM® IT! and were tempted to investigate.
Dr. Baxt injecting Juvéderm®
I am very impressed by the Juvéderm® collection of fillers and recommend specific products to address my patient’s facial enhancement goals by temporarily:
- Restoring lost facial volume (cheeks and chin)
- Filling in facial creases
- Reducing fine lines or wrinkles
- Plumping lips
The collection of Juvéderm® products that we offer at BAXT CosMedical®, includes Juvéderm® Ultra Plus, Juvéderm Voluma®, Juvéderm® Volbella™, and Juvéderm® Vollure™, are effective and can improve your appearance.
Avoid Getting a Botched Filler Job!
But there is a but! The commercials do not inform the consumer that, in order to achieve optimal results, the person doing the injections is key. It isn’t necessary to have a medical license to inject fillers which can lead to serious problems. You want a very experienced and properly trained injector, not someone who takes a weekend course, or injects in a salon, gym, or in homes. Juvéderm® products and other injectables are best performed by a licensed board-certified dermatologist with expertise in the art of cosmetic medicine and NOT a nurse, physician’s assistant (PA), dentist, or other type of non-cosmetic doctor.
As a board-certified dermatologist with years of experience in injecting BOTOX® Cosmetic and many different fillers, I have seen many patients who have come to me to “correct” their bad filler injections. Wrong product selection, dosage, too much volume, asymmetry, or volume in the wrong place can produce hard lumps under the skin and sub-optimal results.
Select the Best…Certification and Specialization Matters
Education, credentials, skill, and artistic vision is necessary to properly inject a dermal filler for natural results. Be sure to select a dermatologist who is experienced in injection technique, has a gallery of before and after patient photos and patient testimonials.
We encourage you to understand why you should select a dermatologist and always check credentials! Read American Society of Dermatology’s “Do Your Homework…Know Your Provider.”
