Expert non-surgical treatments for excessive sweating treatments in Bergen County, NJ and the Tri-State Area
Are you bothered with excessive sweating? Are you suffering from the embarrassment of ugly underarm spots and ruined clothes? For many men and women, no amount of deodorants and antiperspirants work to control the excessive underarm sweating. In fact, people suffering with this condition may even sweat if the weather is cold or they aren’t exercising or physically active. This condition has a medical name, hyperhidrosis, and it is treatable!
Many people are embarrassed by this condition and are not aware there are non-surgical treatments for hyperhidrosis. If you are suffering with hyperhidrosis, you no longer have to undergo an underarm surgery involving the excision of sweat glands. At BAXT CosMedical®, Dr. Rebecca Baxt, a board-certified dermatologist, offers effective, FDA approved non-surgical treatments to control excessive sweating.
What Is Excessive Sweating?
Excessive sweating, also known as hyperhidrosis, is a medical condition where individuals sweat more than necessary to regulate body temperature. This condition can affect various body parts including the underarms, face, scalp, feet, and palms. Hyperhidrosis can significantly impact daily activities and often leads to social anxiety or embarrassment.

How Does BOTOX® Control Excessive Sweating?
BOTOX® is another effective treatment for excessive sweating offered at BAXT CosMedical®. This FDA-approved injectable has been used since 2004 to treat severe primary axillary hyperhidrosis (underarm sweating).
BOTOX® works by temporarily blocking the chemical signals from nerves that stimulate the sweat glands. Without these signals, the glands stop producing sweat. Results can last between three to twelve months, depending on the patient.*
Dr. Rebecca Baxt informs her patients that once BOTOX® is injected, the “sweat isn’t redirected or backed up; it simply isn’t produced in the treated areas.” You will continue to sweat in other areas.1

Are There Other Treatments Available for Excessive Sweating?

Drysol
During your consultation with Dr. Baxt, she will review your medical history and approach your excessive sweating treatment on a step-by-step basis. While there are various topical applications, she will recommend a prescription topical solution. One such product is Drysol™, manufactured by Persōn & Covey, Inc. and is only sold to physicians. Drysol™ contains aluminum chloride, which helps reduce sweating by temporarily blocking the pores. Drysol™ can be used on the underarms, soles of the feet, and palms.
Sofdra™
Sofdra™ (sofpironium topical gel, 12.45%), made by Botanix Pharmaceuticals, received FDA-approval in June 2024. This prescription topical gel is applied directly to the underarm area to treat excessive underarm sweating (primary axillary hyperhidrosis) in adults and children (9 years of age and older).
Sofdra™ is an anticholinergic that reduces sweating by blocking acetylcholine receptors found on the sweat glands in the armpit. Since acetylcholine stimulates sweat production, Sofdra™ prevents this stimulation, helping to control excessive sweating.

Qbrexza®
Qbrexza® (glycopyrronium) cloth, 2.4% is a newer prescription medication designed to treat excessive underarm sweating (primary axillary hyperhidrosis) in adults and children aged 9 and older. Qbrexza® works by blocking the receptors that are responsible for excessive sweating. This topical treatment is applied directly to the armpits.
