What is Kybella?
Kybella, or Deoxycholic acid, works by destroying the fat cells. It is FDA approved to treat the fatty area under the chin, Kybella is seen by many patients and doctors as a miracle worker. If you suffer from a lack of confidence or dislike the excess fat that hangs around your chin, Kybella might just be the perfect thing for you.
How is Kybella administered?
Administered by a Board Certified Dermatologist in our office, Kybella is an injection that typically requires at least 2-4 sessions for optimal results. We will use a topical anesthetic to numb the area, usually also a numbing injection of lidocaine, and then the Kybella.
Is Kybella painful?
With the topical numbing cream, and then local lidocaine anesthesia, the discomfort is minimal.
Is Kybella safe?
As one of the most crucial parts of your investigation process when researching treatments and procedures, it’s important to know what is considered safe and what you should abstain from. Kybella is an FDA approved drug and is safe.
Is Kybella worth it?
If you suffer from unwanted chin fat, then you know just how difficult it can be to actually get rid of it. In fact, for some patients, it can seem like no matter how skinny you are, age will eventually catch up and so will that fat. Kybella is a safe and effective way to get rid of that unwanted chin fat. The other option is Liposuction or in some cases a neck lift, and our plastic surgeons and dermatologists can consult with you to determine the best option for you.
